The Survey

I want to go a little deep on you here, and get into the thick of the differences between conservatives and liberals. Now you will notice that I did not use the term Republicans or Democrats, and there is a reason; there are Democrats that have strong conservative leanings and Republicans that have strong liberal leanings. Once I have made my case I am going to offer you to take a survey and I only ask that you answer honestly ... but for me to ask that of you I of course need to ask the questions in a fair manner and I will. So here we go ... let's get into it.

Before I begin to speak of the two parties let us first discuss the society we live in. We do not live in a Democracy, I repeat we do not live in a Democracy ... a Democracy would be what we call 'mob rule', i.e. 51% of the country see's it this way the other 49% get the shaft. No ... we live in a Representative Republic. We vote for representatives that most closely match our beliefs, and the ones with the most votes win ... sounds simple, but of course it is not, nothing is. In this Republic we have what can be called an orderly civil society where we live together with the rule of law ... but not under the rule of law. We are free, we have liberty, we have personal property rights, and we have morals and ethics that guide us. None of us are perfect ... I am not that's for sure (my wife would agree!), but we all have these rights and in our nation we all can pursue our own paths ... within the rule of law. In this society we decide how we are governed via free and fair elections ... is it a perfect system? Of course not, but it is the best system in world bar none.

We are still a very young nation and yet look at what our society has achieved ... look at it! We are the most prosperous nation on the planet, we are the nation that does the most good on the planet, we have immense power yet we apply it very rarely. Only our military is run by our government, everything else this nation has done ... has been done by us! By you, by me, by your neighbor, brother, father, mother, by your sister, your friend, your aunt, by your uncle, by your co-worker, your client, by your boss, by his/her boss, by your priest, your shrink, your bartender, your mechanic, your lawyer, by your doctor, your dentist, and yes .... your children. None of the magnificence of this nation is because of our government ... we are the government ... or used to be. Lately however, and over the last 80 plus years, a lot of our greatness is in spite of the government. I am not anti-government, I am for limited government to ensure we have a civil society, a government that follows our constitution. This model has been slowly eroding over the years and now the growth of this massive government is accelerating at an alarming rate.

Conservatives and Liberals ... what do they believe, boy that is a tough one ... for the Liberal. Conservatives keep it pretty simple; we believe in freedom, liberty, personal property rights, personal responsibility, morals, ethics, the rule of law. I did not mention God because we have freedom of religion in this nation (not freedom from ... would the ACLU please take note of that!). Pretty simple huh. Liberals ... I'm not sure I know what the hell you believe in ... you say you believe in freedom and liberty yet you're so quick to deny it. You want to tell me what light bulbs I can use, what car I can drive, how much water I can have in my toilet bowl, whether I can change the lights on the front of my house, I could go on and on. Take a look at my Loony Liberals / Losing Liberty Link List and see the examples of how the liberal wants to tell you how to live. You see the liberal is for equality ... not equality that we are human beings with the same inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness ... but equality meaning we all need to be equal, the have's have too much, and the have nots need more. The liberal says he is for personal property rights and yet he is so quick to take ones property and give it to another ... not directly mind you but via confiscatory taxes, and laws that erode our ability to acquire and keep property and wealth. The liberals say they are for morals and ethics and many are and some are not ... just like conservatives ... there will always be bad apples in any bunch. Liberals say they are for the rule of law ... but only when it drives their agenda. They welcome the judiciary branch to legislate from the bench and advocate a living and breathing constitution. I reject that notion.

There are stark differences between conservatives and liberals ... so take the survey and find out what you truly believe ... and then get engaged and get involved. But first remember ... before you retire for the evening on this fine spring day ... after you run your fingers through hair of your sleeping child ... after you hold your wife or husband close to you ... say these words; 'I live in the greatest nation on Earth', come on you liberals who think your nation has done so much wrong and continues to do wrong, say it! I promise you will start to feel the hate slip away ... give it a try. God Bless.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow ... now that is a strange title for a blog post. I am not sure what got into me tonight ... perhaps it was my daughter's talent show tonight (super cute! Way to go Jessie!) ... perhaps it was the crazy work day ... perhaps it's the second glass of Merlot (I'm guessing the Merlot!). What is Socialism? It's a word that is thrown out a lot ... but what does it really mean? I could give you the Webster's dictionary definition but that is boring ... and any one that knows me, knows I am not boring. So instead I am going to tell you a story ... gather the kids around and throw on your Snuggies ... pour yourself a hot toddy or better yet 3 fingers of Johnny Walker ... I digress, let's move on shall we.

My story begins many years ago ... now I want you to, at times, close your eyes and think about the history of my story ... think about what it was really like in a time when you didn't jump in the mini-van and go to Super Wal-Mart to buy dinner ... think about what it was like when you had to actually hunt a living animal for your dinner, or grow a plant out of the ground for your dinner, or pull a fish or other sea life from the ocean or river for your dinner. Get out of your comfort zone of Living in the Greatest Nation on Earth where the Store Shelves are Full, Where the Meat is Already Killed and Cut Up for You, Where You Can Buy Everything You and Your Family Need to Live On at One Store! Are you there? Are you thinking like a hunter, like a gatherer, like a farmer? Okay then ... let us proceed.

Now I must tell the truth (that's what conservatives do), I am not going to be the one to tell this story, I am going to let someone else tell it. A quick background ... this is a story on how Socialism almost killed the American Dream before anyone knew what the dream was ... and how the Free Market and Capitalism saved it. Enjoy! I am going to get another glass of Merlot while you read ... yes I can count ... yes I know that's three glasses ... yes I know they say two is healthy, but hey three minus two is one, and one (more) is less than two so there!

The Great Thanksgiving Hoax - Richard J. Marbury (see link below)

Each year at this time school children all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story, and newspapers, radio, TV, and magazines devote vast amounts of time and space to it. It is all very colorful and fascinating.

It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like what really happened. It is a fairy tale, a whitewashed and sanitized collection of half-truths which divert attention away from Thanksgiving's real meaning.

The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them.
The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or less happily ever after, each year repeating the first Thanksgiving. Other early colonies also have hard times at first, but they soon prosper and adopt the annual tradition of giving thanks for this prosperous new land called America.

The problem with this official story is that the harvest of 1621 was not bountiful, nor were the colonists hardworking or tenacious. 1621 was a famine year and many of the colonists were lazy thieves.

In his 'History of Plymouth Plantation,' the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years, because they refused to work in the fields. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with "corruption," and with "confusion and discontent." The crops were small because "much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable."

In the harvest feasts of 1621 and 1622, "all had their hungry bellies filled," but only briefly. The prevailing condition during those years was not the abundance the official story claims, it was famine and death. The first "Thanksgiving" was not so much a celebration as it was the last meal of condemned men.

But in subsequent years something changes. The harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly, "instead of famine now God gave them plenty," Bradford wrote, "and the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God." Thereafter, he wrote, "any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day." In fact, in 1624, so much food was produced that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn.
What happened?

After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, "they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop." They began to question their form of economic organization.

This had required that "all profits & benefits that are got by trade, working, fishing, or any other means" were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, "all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock." A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed.
This "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that "young men that are most able and fit for labor and service" complained about being forced to "spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children." Also, "the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak." So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of famines.

Many early groups of colonists set up socialist states, all with the same terrible results. At Jamestown, established in 1607, out of every shipload of settlers that arrived, less than half would survive their first twelve months in America. Most of the work was being done by only one-fifth of the men, the other four-fifths choosing to be parasites. In the winter of 1609-10, called "The Starving Time," the population fell from five-hundred to sixty.

Then the Jamestown colony was converted to a free market, and the results were every bit as dramatic as those at Plymouth. In 1614, Colony Secretary Ralph Hamor wrote that after the switch there was "plenty of food, which every man by his own industry may easily and doth procure." He said that when the socialist system had prevailed, "we reaped not so much corn from the labors of thirty men as three men have done for themselves now."

Before these free markets were established, the colonists had nothing for which to be thankful. They were in the same situation as Ethiopians are today, and for the same reasons. But after free markets were established, the resulting abundance was so dramatic that the annual Thanksgiving celebrations became common throughout the colonies, and in 1863, Thanksgiving became a national holiday.

Thus the real reason for Thanksgiving, deleted from the official story, is: Socialism does not work; the one and only source of abundance is free markets, and we thank God we live in a country where we can have them.

How was it? Good story huh? It's true ... do your own research, I have. You see it does not matter how big a society becomes, or how advanced, or how wired by technology. The fundamentals stay the same ... my basketball coach always told me that ... stick to the fundamentals. We are heading backwards now in our nation ... we are heading back to Socialism, and there is no country on Earth, past or present, where it has been successful ... not a one! Can you name one? The big picture problem here is once you go down the road of Socialism it is very hard to travel back, especially in a nation our size. You see the socialists know they cannot deliver on their promises, so what happens? ... either they give back power after being defeated in elections or prior to the elections they seize power and become ... Big Lie #2

Universal, single payer health care is coming fast and furious via the Obama administration. Without getting into all the nuts and bolts, let's just start with the basics; Can you name one nation where universal health care is a success? Don't bother trying because there is no such success story. Why is that we wonder? The reason is that government cannot deliver on its promise to cover everyone because they do not have enough money ... period. Unfortunately many Americans believe that we can deliver ... sadly we cannot. Currently 49% of health care in the United States falls under Medicare and Medicaid and both of those programs, like Social Security, are bankrupt, unfunded liabilities for future generations to deal with.

The Big Lie #2, which was promulgated, by Michael Moore's Sicko, is that other nations universal health care is better than ours. If that were the truth then people of means in those countries would not travel to America every day for care ... but they do. They do this because care in those countries is free ... but it is rationed, only those the government feel need it, get it. Why is this not reported in our nation by our media? Read the links below, read the actual articles by real news outlets in countries over seas, and decide if you want to wait 4 months for an MRI as they do in Canada. Read the God Damn articles and ask yourself if that is what you want for you and your children. You have never seen this reported in the liberal media ... why? You decide ... I report.

My Friend the Liberal Fool

I have searched long and hard for him, it has been an arduous journey ... I have looked everywhere, at youth hostels, Starbucks, college campus', at my child won't leave home support groups, at book stores, even at train stations and bus stops ... and I have found him. I have found the quintessential liberal drone ... a true Obamatron.

I have already crushed his last video report regarding waterboarding in my blog and I have added a link list to his profile and his posts, called The Liberal Fool. Go there to see what a true, angry liberal hater thinks. Nothing America does is good, America is bad and should apologize to the rest of the world, America should be punished. This what the Liberal Fool believes. You will never see a post on his IReport video blog that champions America, never, if you do it is because I called him out on it.

Now the Liberal Fool has posted another video blog segment in regards to waterboarding. Yesterday I smacked him around in the comment section on IReports regarding his lack of substance and sources, so late yesterday his video contained multiple sources ... but alas, the Fool's sources are not applicable. The Fool opens his video blog with a brief discussion of how our own forces where waterboarded in SERE training (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) and his argument from there states that if we trained to survive torture that violated the Geneva Convention then we know that we are also in violation when we do it to enemy combatants. The Fool also mentions a case in Texas where some law enforcement officers were tried and convicted for waterboarding a prisoner. Ah but the Fool as missed one key point (I doubt he missed it, I am sure he just left it out as he pandering to a fairly ignorant constituency anyway). The point he missed is that enemy combatants are not subject to the Geneva Convention. I have added a link below titled, Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Pay particular attention to Article 4 where it states:

Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfil the following conditions:
(a) That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;
(b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;
(c) That of carrying arms openly;
(d) That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war.

You see the Fool does not want you to see this because he is a either a real fool or he is trying to get you to believe that enemy combatants have rights under the Geneva Convention which they clearly do not. And I have to go back to the Texas case he cites; Fool you cited a state case? ... Of course waterboarding is illegal in the state of Texas, they are not at war you idiot ... except with you and the other Fools. Fool, it is like a cat toying with a mouse ... better luck next time. I will respond to the Fool's next video post that is on another subject as I have kicked his ass on this one.

I Want to be Waterboarded

I will start this blog off with a link to some knucklehead, ObamaTron's discussion about waterboarding. Please watch the whole thing, it's a very short clip. I will then easily deconstruct his argument (which is easy to do with any Liberal argument by the way). Here we go let's dive into it ...

"I was so wrong about torture. Since the Liks of Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and anyone else on the right think it's not torture when you're waterboarded, and it's just rough interrogation tactics, then they must think it's perfectly okay when our soldiers are captured and they're waterboarded.

I'd like to see them say it's not torture when a news report breaks on Private Joe Smith, from Anytown, USA, was found to have been waterboarded 183 times over a period of 30 days.

Who else thinks it would be okay if one of our American Soldiers was found to have been waterboarded that many times? Who else can say that he would be a perfectly normal man, with no damaged psychological issues after believing he would be drowned nearly 200 times.

I am trying hard not to call him a name, I already called him a knucklehead and the word ObamaTron is not name calling, it's just the plain truth as this guy, and unfortunately the millions like him, are spoon fed this nonsense from Obama, his administration, the Socialists in Congress, and the liberal media. So they get on their sites and come up with ludicrous arguments like the one above. Now you will notice that there really is no substance to his post, nothing. He just drones on about how the 'right wingers' think it's okay to water board our troops ... and I agree, read on to see why.

Now I, not being a knucklehead ObamaTron, will destroy his argument easily with almost no effort. Here we go. He states that certain conservative talk show hosts think that it's 'perfectly' okay for our troops to be waterboarded, now come on this is just so easy ... I am fairly convinced that these conservative pundits would be ecstatic if these enemy combatants waterboarded our captured troops. Now I'm sure your thinking; "Doug what the hell are you talking about? How can you say that? You want to waterboard our troops, who else do you want to waterboard? Your neighbor if he fails to return the tool he borrowed, your mail man, your dog, your children? You're a racist, you hate gay people, Bush Lied Kids Died ... blah, blah, blah". Yes ... let me be clear, if one of our troops is captured I want them to be waterboarded, because right now if these enemy combatants capture Private Joe Smith from Anytown, USA they would ... torture the living hell out of him, beat him to a pulp, cut his head off, burn his corpse, dismember his corpse, and drag his corpse through the streets of their cess pool villages!!! Don't you get it veritas28? Our captured troops would not be waterboarded hundreds of times and after each time sent back to their air conditioned cell at Gitmo to read their Bible that the enemy combatants provided. They would not be waterboarded hundreds of times and then go to the dentist, or the doctor, or have 3 squares a day like they do in Guantanamo Bay. They would not be waterboarded and then allowed to brush their teeth, slip on clean jammie's and climb into a cot and go to sleep. Our captured troops would not be waterboarded at all! They would be terrorized and then put to death in the most horrific way possible ... their head's sawed off their bodies while they are still alive! So yes veritas28, the conservative pundits, myself, and millions of real Americans want Private Joe Smith to be waterboarded if he is captured ... and Private Joe Smith from Anytown, USA would want to be waterboarded as well.

Now veritas28 when you lay your head down on your parent's pillow tonight, in their basement that you live in, I want you to close your eyes and think about some Terrorist holding your daughter's, or your wife's, or your mother's, or your dad's, or perhaps your brother's, or your sister's head down as he saws into their neck, through their skin, through their spinal cord, through their veins and arteries, through their muscle and bone ... all while they are alive and screaming, calling out your name. After that thought I think you would want them to be waterboarded too. Now before you go to sleep say this; "I live in the greatest nation on Earth", give it a try veritas let the liberal anger go and think about how amazingly blessed you are to live in a nation like ours.

Today is Earth Day, not the day the Earth stood still, nor the Day after Tomorrow, it is just plain old Earth Day ... yeah. I celebrated my Earth Day by making my carbon footprint as big as possible; I took the long way to work, I drove over my lunch hour snacking on a salad with grilled chicken ... yes I'm dieting ... no I don't like it ... yes I have to because I need to lose weight, I digress. I left all the lights on at my house and stopped by the grocery store and asked for a whole bunch of plastic bags ... she actually gave them to me, albeit with a strange look on her face after I told her they were for Earth Day. As you can tell already; I don't believe in Global Warming (what the Enviro-Statist calls it in the summer), nor do I believe in Man-made Climate Change (What they call it in the winter). Enviro nut jobs are not quite as bad as the anarchists with their No More Money! signs at the G-20; now how did they get to the summit; money, where did they sleep? A hotel; money. When they were hungry, they ate; money. Idiots! But the Environment crowd is almost as bad let me be clear about that.

Now I can prove Global Warming, Man-made Climate change, or whatever the H. E. double hockey sticks you want to call it is a hoax. Now you may say "Doug, what the hell are you talking about! Your not a scientist, your in sales, your a racist, Bush lied!, you have a poster of Dick Cheney in your room ... blah, blah, blah". But I can prove it ... simply and efficiently ... in two points, and they are:

1) It has widely been reported in the left wing media (which is almost all main stream media) that there is a 'consensus' among scientists that it is real ... NO! There is no such thing as a 'consensus' in true science; either it has been proven, or dis proven ... period! (And any of you Scientists that want to take me on go ahead ... but before you do tell me who funds your research ... not the organization that you research for but the money that funds that research organization ... tell me that and I will guarantee you that you do not have one scientist on staff that disagrees with Global Warming or whatever the name of the day for it is)

2) Any thing the Loony Left goes gaga over is false and not based on reality. Name me one liberal policy that has made a difference in this nation or world ... I dare you as I will back up a truck of data from real sources that show you it has not worked or achieved the opposite of its intended goal (try me! I am very well read and I think it would be fun!)

Now I don't litter, I turn my lights off (except for today) not to save the planet but to save money, I am not wasteful, again for $$ not to save the planet. Because you see this is the big lie of the left on the environment ... they are not saving the planet, because the planet does not need saving! Let me be clear on this ... The Human Race will not exist long enough on Mother Earth to matter! Sorry to be a downer there but you have to try and comprehend how old the earth is and what has happened to other species that have dominated the planet. The dinosaurs were on this planet for 65 million years ... again not a scientist, so if you are, correct me if I'm wrong. Man has been on this planet for ... don't know for sure but don't really care because it has been no where near 65 million years! Let's say for the sake of the example that it has been 25,000 years ... think about it; for man to be on this planet as long as the dinosaurs we would need to survive the next 2,599 ... 25,000 year periods ... good luck. To further make my point take a look at this video and make your own decisions ... maybe we can come together and have a consensus!

Mother Earth does not even know we are here ... she does not deal in years, nor decades, nor centuries, nor millenniums. She does not even pay attention to 10,000 years, nor 100,000, nor a million. Ten million years is nothing in terms of time on this planet, nor is 100 million years. #2 ... Who's #1?

Now this is interesting … not a big deal, but a very good example of how our media works in this country. This ties directly to the reporting I did about President Obama shaking hands with Chavez … and Chavez handing him a book. Now this book that our President so graciously accepted is a book about how Latin America has been exploited by the West and more specifically the United States. After the news broke about the book … no the liberal media break it, the story was broken by conservative blogs, I believe specifically the Drudge Report, the book began to see a massive surge of people buying it on Amazon … so much so that it jumped from something like #50,000 to the #2 selling book on Amazon. Now stick with me here because I know you’re thinking “Doug what the hell are you talking about!” Again this is not something that is a huge issue but it really shows you what liberal bias in the media is all about, it is a very clear example … so let’s get into it.

The media jumped on this and had reports by some of the biggest names, Chuck Todd of NBC, Heraldo Rivera of Fox News, Chris Matthews of MSNBC among others discussing how amazing it was that this book has risen so fast on Amazon. Now not once did they discuss the content of the book, nor did they discuss the inappropriate nature of a Dictator handing an American hating book to our President, they simply just marveled at how incredible it was that the book jumped to #2. Now why is the #2 significant? … Well for all you math majors out there, the #2 is right after the … #1! Can anybody tell me what the number one selling book is on Amazon? (that’s right the #1 best-selling book, not just the #1 political book, not the #1 non-fiction book, not the #1 educational book … the #1 book period!) I can, it is Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny, A Conservative Manifesto. Now what may surprise you even more is that this book has been #1 on Amazon and the New York Times bestseller list, again not in its category of non-fiction, but #1 out of all categories … for the last 3 full weeks and looking good to be #1 for 4 full weeks! Yet you have not seen or heard of one mention of this book on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Associated Press, nor have you seen the author interviewed on the Today Show, nor on Good Morning America, nor on the Early Show, nor on the View, nor on Regis and the Hot Blonde Show, nor on 60 minutes, nor anywhere!

Now I don’t care if he is interviewed, nor does he, has he has a #1 book without them and is the 3rd largest nationally syndicated radio talk show host in the country. But it is just striking that his book, which is about conservative beliefs, became #1 and is still #1, without any mention in the mainstream media. What is even more striking … and disturbing, is that a book about extreme leftist hatred of America zooms to # 2 on Amazon, after a banana republic third world dictator hands it to our President A clear example of liberal bias in America … and a very disturbing view of what the media think about their country.
